52 Training (Standpipe Stretches)

Engine 52 took time to train on some of our basic operations in an effort to remain proficient. There's been a lot of discussion of standpipes and water supply lately, following the death of Capt. Bowen in Asheville, so we wanted to incorporate this into our training time. 52 has numerous standpipe equipped structures in our first due. We used GTCC's training tower to work on the deployment of our High-Rise Packs using the stand pipe system.

We were cruising in the Sanford and Son Express (Reserve 3)

While these evolutions are some of the most "basic" of our duties, they can be botched rather easily. If you're gonna mess 'em up, the training center is the time to do it, not at 3 in the morning with smoke and fire showing. We learned a few things and found some things that we can definitely tighten up on. Overall the training was successful and enjoyable.
