Forcing Entry at Costco

I took this photo recently at Costco while on an early morning alarm. It shows tear drop style beams resting in welded drop-ins at the front entrances. I assume they are to deter "smash and grab" type robberies.

These hollow steel beams are typical of the type used as horizontal cross members of high rack storage. They have a gap of about 4 to 6 inches between the member and the roll up door.

While we, as an engine company, are not tasked with this type of forcible entry, this set up could certainly give a truckie some extra work. There is nothing on the exterior of the doors to indicate their presence.

There are heavy commerical steel doors with steel frames set into block on either side of these roll up doors.
