On that note, while doing some territory familiarization and preplanning I took a couple of photo of some points of interest on our ride yesterday. I think these are prime examples of why it's important to get out and see whats going on within your 1st due. While these may not be deal breakers, they would certainly set the tone for the call.
The fire system is supplied by a 1 1/2" FDC.
There is poor access to the rooms in case of an actual fire and it will be good strategy to confirm the exact location of the fire before committing your line. While you make entry at the ground level, the "1st floor" is actually a subdivision which is 2/3 below grade and the 2nd floor is a half story above grade.
The apartment lay (200' 2 1/2" wyed into 150' 1 3/4") may be a good option in this building as the hallways from one end to the other are roughly 150'. So, depending on which division you're operating on, where you make entry and which end the fire is on, you could be hard pressed to make an attack with a 200' cross lay.
FYI - According to management, this extended stay style hotel has residents that have occupied the same room for up to 9 years.
It'd hafta be pretty dang hot to get me in here.
This gem is located at the main access to The Lodge at Lakeshore Apartments (multiple 3 story, ordinary construction) on Hilltop Rd. If we were to catch something in the first couple of buildings, we'd lay in from a couple hundred feet up the street instead of in the lot of the buildings. However there are multiple plugs throughout the development as you go further in.
"As the first line goes, so goes the fire"
