Chimney Fire in April?!?!

Engine 52 and L49 investigating the extent of damage caused by the homeowner who, while trying to get rid of birds in his chimney started a small fire in an effort to "smoke them out".

Due to unobstructed access from the A-side and the steep pitch of the roof, the decision was made to utilize the bucket in lieu of a 24' and roof ladder. L49 used a water can to stop loss to the home.

Although the homeowner was a bit embarrassed, he did state that he was pleased with GFD's effort and concern.
