52 Participates in Multi-company RIC Drill

Firefighters and Officers from Engine Companies 4, 41, 52 and Ladder Companies 7 & 21 (B-shift) all participated in a training exercises in hopes of improving our proficiency in calling May Days and effecting firefighter rescues.

Each company was assigned a fire ground function including fire attack, search and rescue, accountability, etc. Several May Days were called by firefighters that were involved in a collapse scenario in a residential structure. Each company performed specific evolutions that were designed to enhance our communications, operabability and efficiency.

Contact was made with the original 3 downed firefighters in 11, 13 and 21 minutes respectively with all three being on supplemental air within  two minutes of original contact.

Overall the drill was successful with crews and training staff generally pleased with the outcome and performance by all involved.
