GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) —
West Friendly Avenue is now reopened after a building fire kept traffic away for several hours early Sunday evening.A fire at Friendly Tire Center, located at 5602 West Friendly Ave. in Greensboro, had blocked both sides of West Friendly Avenue from Dolley Madison Road to College Road since about 3 p.m. when a fire broke out, police said.
The fire started near New Bottoms Shoe Clinic and spread to Friendly Avenue Tire and Services. Nobody was inside either building when the fire started, and no firefighters were injured while putting out the flames.
The road reopened shortly before 7 p.m. after it was expected to remain closed for at least an hour and a half.
